The Folio Society and the British Library are hosting a festival which will feature the Folio Prize judges, shortlisted authors and members of the Academy, who will come together for a rich discussion about the art of storytelling.
Join Academicians Sarah Hall, A.S Byatt and Sam Leith in a discussion about how mastering structure, the ‘bones’ of a story, is essential to any work of fiction, whatever form it takes. Sarah Hall is the author of four novels and an award-winning collection of short stories. Her first novel, Haweswater, won the 2003 Commonwealth Writers Prize for Best First Novel and she is the recent winner of the BBC National Short Story Award. A distinguished critic as well as a writer of fiction, A.S. Byatt is renowned internationally for her novels and short stories. She was made CBE in 1990 and DBE in 1999. Sam Leith is a former Literary Editor of the Daily Telegraph, a regular newspaper contributor, and an author of non-fiction and fiction.
